Download Resources of FelMGDB

Published on: 2025-03-06 | By: EDITOR

This project provides comprehensive access to all its resources through dedicated download services, ensuring convenience and utility for researchers and collaborators:

Direct Download via Viewer: For individual genomes or specific samples, users can directly download resources, including genome sequences and associated metadata, through an accessible viewer interface (Genome viewer, Sample Viewer). This feature is ideal for targeted analysis or smaller-scale projects.

Bulk Data Download: This page offers a complete package of all project data, including:

  • Entire genome sequences
  • Detailed genome annotations and metadata
  • Comprehensive sample information
  • Pre-built Kraken2 databases for representative sequences, enabling seamless integration into metagenomic analysis pipelines.

These resources are designed to facilitate research in feline gut microbiota, microbial ecology, and probiotic development. We invite you to explore and utilize these datasets to advance your scientific endeavors.

1. Species-Level Representative Genomes (514 Taxa)

The following resources provide the 514 species-level representative genome sequences referenced in this project. Associated taxonomic classifications and genome annotation details can be accessed and downloaded via the database links at the bottom of this page.  Click Here to Download Resource.

2. Custom Kraken2 Database for Feline Gut Microbiome Profiling

This specialized Kraken2 database was constructed using the 514 species-level representative genomes described above. It includes three essential files for taxonomic classification:

  • hash.k2d - Contains genomic k-mer (k=35) signatures for rapid sequence alignment.
  • taxo.k2d - Embeds the complete taxonomic hierarchy (NCBI Taxonomy ID system).
  • opts.k2d - Stores database metadata and versioning information.

The database package additionally includes pre-computed Bracken species-level abundance profiles calibrated for 150bp paired-end sequencing reads.  These were generated with the following command:

bracken-build -d ${db} -t 4 -l 150

To utilize: Download the complete database bundle and specify its path in Kraken2's --db parameter. Click Here to Download Resource.
